Celebrities and Their Charities This Christmas

The Emmys, Grammys, and Oscars aren’t the only occasions celebrities make appearances in. Charity events have also become widely popular, especially during the holidays. It doesn’t matter if the limelight isn’t as bright here.

At the London Sparks Winter Ball, Princess Michael of Kent and guests from the sports and entertainment arenas enjoy an evening of champagne, dancing, and auctions, for the benefit of children with illnesses.

Eric Clapton, Victoria Beckham, Phil Collins, Sean Bean, and Sir Steve Redgrave are just some of the celebrities who support the StarCards Christmas Celebrity Auction for the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity. Signed playing cards and other items have raised £50,000 to date.

This year, Sir Ian McKellen of Lord of the Rings and X-MEN helps out the Albert Kennedy Trust for homeless young people. The host of Village Drinks 2008, he will mingle with guests over mince pies and mulled wine.

Rihanna went “ella-ella” all the way to the UNICEF Snowflake Lighting Ceremony on November 20 in New York. She supports the charity dedicated to looking out for children worldwide.

Miley Cyrus will be rockin’ out at the Christmas Cheers and Charity Party, where guests arrive with school supplies and other gifts. This will aid Guatemala SANA, an organisation focused on providing healthcare, education, and environmental support for the Central American country.
